Firstly the Peacock symbolizes many different things in Celtic folklore. A peacock’s colorful tail represents the rays of the sun & the birth of a new day. Similarly they symbolize freedom & transcendence, having the ability to soar up to the heavens & bring back messages from the gods. “By the Peacock” was a sacred oath, because the peacock was thought to have the power of resurrection, like the Phoenix..

Most importantly in history, myth, legend and lore, the peacock symbolism carries portents of: Nobility, Purity, Spirituality, Guidance, Protection, Immortality & Watchfulness.

Its colorful feathers represent the rays of the sun and the beginning of the new day. In addition the peacocks itself shows luxury and wealth. Furthermore the peacock symbol is also a sign of immortality.

The Druids used to wear the peacock art feather in the form of an ornate feathered cloak. Interestingly, Celtic Druids wore these types of robes in events to call up the sky gods and to get knowledge about the celestial realm.

In conclusion the Celtic culture believed that the feather robe and the presence of the sky god would help the Druid to surpass the earthy plane. Moreover, the feathers on their cloaks also represent wisdom, beauty, and authority.
