Graphic Design & Illustration

With my background in fine art I think I bring something unique to my Graphic Design & Illustration. Not many artists can do graphic design and not many graphic designers can do fine art. I can jump between the two worlds with ease. I can also do Illustration and concept art.

Because of my fine art background in my graphic design work I think my greatest strength are projects that include alot of illustration elements like coming up with Creative concepts, Logos, books and book covers, magazines and more

But as you can see with this entire website and portfolio I can also do some technical design work such as Web mastering and woocommerce in WordPress websites. I also photographed, filmed, scanned and edited all of my product photos and website photos for www.artbychelsea.com as well as the copy text, and banners, logos, videos and more

Promotional Flyer Brochure for my www.PetSketch.art website and campaign where I create original fine art pencil pet portraits and donate a portion of proceeds to Pet Rescues such as Pet Rescue By Judy to help raise awareness and funds for pet rescues.

Books, Booklets and Magazines

"Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" Book Cover Design

For this book design project I had to take a song and create an entire book cover design based off of the song. I chose “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” by The Beatles.

Peter Max Biography Booklet

For this Concept I created a Peter Max Biography Booklet from beginning to end. The cover, pages, images, binding and text design.

Posters

I have created Posters as the chosen Poster Artist for the 42nd Mount Dora Arts Festival and the 54th Annual Art Harvest Festival. I have also created Posters and art for the Orlando Renaissance Festival.

Type & Design Booklet Design

For this Project I had to create a Booklet Magazine of the history and design elements of Type, Design and Typography. From the front and back cover, to the timelines, copy texts, paragraph and image spacing. I designed everything from digital to printed binded hard copy from beginning to end.

Flyers, Banners, Apperal & Promotional Materials

University of Central Florida UCF & TrackShack Marathon

For this collaborative project I had to design promotional materials such as a logo, apparel, banners and flyers for a marathon sponsored by TrackShack and held at UCF campus. Since the UCF school colors are black and gold and it’s mascot is a Pegasus I wanted that to be the central theme and color brand. I added a runner in the negative space in the pegasus to show the movement and the run which gives runners “wings” and represents the TrackShack collab.

U Can Finish is a play on words in this campaign to abbreviate UCF. The arrow reinforences the race and movement aspect while also visually breaking the information in two easy pieces. The 5 mile and 2 mile are the two marathons and the date is Oct 2015.

Rock n Roll Heaven REBRAND

Project to Rebrand Rock n Roll Heaven – Logo, Apparel and Store. Rock n Roll Heaven is one of Orlando Florida’s oldest and most famous record stores and one of my personal favorite record stores. As a huge music lover this was one of my favorite projects to work on.

Firstly I recreated the new Logo for Rock n Roll Heaven. I wanted to incorporate the wings for the “heaven” part of the name and of course a classic vinyl record as the center piece. I used a classic rock typography that heightens back to classic rock albums such as “AC/DC”.

The best logos are always dynamic. While working with the owner of Rock n Roll Heaven I suggested a design that would look cool as not just a logo but something that could be worn as apparel or collectables.

As a final idea I wanted to pull the new logo and design together to showcase the rebrand together. Combining the classic and modern. The new logo is bold yet simple on a black background. In contrast I suggested “Lava Lamp” of color stickers for the glass to give it a retro 60s-70s vibe and a pop of color. Since the Logo, Banner and Stickers are bold I kept the typography of the signs on the window simple and informative.
